The Prime Minister appeared to miss pronounce contact tracing as contact tasting during the Downing Street Briefing. Mr Johnson attempted to correct his mistake but he then said contact testing before eventually saying contact tracing.
Mr Johnson said: “There will be scaled up testing at a local level combined with contract tasting, testing, tracing.
“Forgive me, contract, contact tracing through NHS test and trace.”
Some viewers took to Twitter to discuss the Prime Minister’s blunder.
One Twitter user said: “Not for the first time, Boris struggling with contract tracing.”
Another tweeted: “Get your words right @BorisJohnson.”
A third wrote: “I think Boris just malfunctioned.”
Another tweeted: “Think Boris Johnson had been getting a bit of practice in for the pubs opening tomorrow… Contract tasting?”
A fifth wrote: “Everytime Boris Johnson is on tv, doing the Press Briefing, you know what he’s going to do. Waffle…waffle…umm…waffle …wash your hands…waffle…enjoy your summer.”
