The shooting took place on Beaconsfield Road, near Edmonton Green overground station, at around 9pm. The Enfield Metropolitan Police Service have confirmed a male in his mid-202s was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is despite the efforts of both officers and paramedics who arrived at the scene.

A crime scene has been put in place around the area, and footage posted to twitter by bystanders appears to show multiple police cars and vans parked around the area.

Twitter user 999London said: “A large number of police officers are currently guarding the crime scene.”

Police have not confirmed the identity of the victim or the shooter.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

No arrests have been made.

One person said on Twitter: “We heard what we thought were gun shots then a woman screaming like mad earlier.”
