Either way, it looks like Samsung could have a new weapon to combat the threat of other rival, high-spec budget devices.
Last year Google shook up the Android marketplace with the brilliant Pixel 3A, and the Mountain View firm are expected to follow it up this year with the Pixel 4A.
While OnePlus are believed to be going back to their low-cost roots with a new device that will be launching in July which could cost just $299.
However, if rumours are to be believed this new OnePlus device will be budget in name only – offering 5G support, a triple rear camera setup and a 6.4inch OLED screen.
The Galaxy S20 Lite could be the perfect antidote to combat these soon-to-be released Android handsets, but Samsung fans will have to wait a little longer for its launch.
GSMArena has reported that the Galaxy S20 Lite release date is rumoured to be happening in October.
