Prince Charles’ strict rules palace staff MUST follow for perfect cup of royal tea

Prince Charles’ butler must make and serve his tea in a very special way. Evan Samson, Hospitality manager of Dumfries House, explained what the palace staff have to do to make the prince’s perfect brew.

He told The Sunday Times: “The key is to use loose tea and a teapot – one teaspoon of tea leaves per teacup plus an extra one for the pot.

“The water must be heated to 70C for green tea and 100C for Earl Grey or English breakfast tea.

“The temperature of the water must be measured with a thermometer.”

Mr Samson explained how there are different rules depending on the type of tea being made.

He said: “There are different rules for making green and black tea – while green tea should be brewed for three minutes, black tea must be left for five.

“A perfect royal brew should use organic honey instead of sugar which is added to the teacup before the tea is poured in.

“There are specific details about how the teacup should be positioned – the handle of the teacup must be placed to the right, with the teaspoon under the handle.”

Prince Charles’ mother, the Queen, also has specific demands for her perfect cup of tea.

“Lastly, you should always sip from the cup and never slurp.”

Royal expert, Clive Goodman, explained how the future king Prince Charles has his staff do everything for him.

He said: “The Prince of Wales, he doesn’t lift a thing.

“He gets up in the morning, his bathrobe is there waiting for him; he walks into the bathroom, the bath is drawn for him already.

“Even when he gets out of the bath, the towel is folded in a special way so he just has to sit in it and wrap it around himself.

“Then he goes into his dressing room, his clothes are all laid out for him – even his socks, left and right, are in exactly the right spot.”

Clarence House’s staff also have to follow strict rules for when Prince Charles baths.

Paul Burrell, a former royal butler, said the Prince of Wales’ bath towel has to be position is a specific way.

Speaking on a documentary, he said: “His underwear is folded in a certain way and his bath towel has to be placed in a certain fashion.

“When it comes to bathing the bath plug has to be in a certain position, the water temperature has to be just tepid, and only half full. And if anyone gets anything wrong everybody is scolded.”

How to live longer: The herbal tea that may help ward off cancer and other threats

In one study, nettle leaf extract lowered blood glucose and A1C in a group of people with type 2 diabetes who were taking insulin as well as oral diabetes medications.

A1C is a blood test that measures your average blood glucose, or blood sugar, level over the past three months.

General tips to reducing risk of chronic diseases

According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), active people generally live longer and are at less risk for serious health problems like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and some cancers.

In fact, exercising regularly can reduce your risk of major illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and cancer by up to 50 percent and lower your risk of early death by up to 30 percent, says the NHS.

How to live longer: Popular tea which reduces mortality rate by a third to boost longevity

Staying healthy and prolonging your life span takes a lifelong commitment. A person has to be committed to a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle would mean adhering to a healthy diet and regular exercise. Sipping on a certain hot beverage has been proven to aid in a healthier life and boost longevity.

Chamomile is not only a popular herbal remedy and a delicious treat; it also has a positive impact on one’s health and could boost longevity.

A study conducted at the University of Texas Medical Branch, analysed 1,677 Mexican American men and women all aged over 60 and analysed how chamomile tea consumption aided in longevity.

The study revealed that the tea helped to decrease mortality risk by nearly a third compared to those who did not drink the tea.

According to the study’s authors, previous research suggests that black and green tea is linked to reduced heart problems, a lower risk of developing cancer and lower rates of mortality.

One of the more important mechanisms in chamomile tea is its powerful antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

Chamomile’s ability to boost one’s longevity is contributed by its strong ability to soothe and relax the nerves.

An imperative factor as stress is one of the leading causes of many serious health risks.

Many studies have indicated chamomile’s effectiveness in helping to reduce stress in individuals, therefore reducing the risk of chronic disease conditions.

In a study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the metabolic effects of chamomile consumption were investigated.

The study noted: “Daily urine samples were collected from volunteers during a six-week period incorporating a two-week baseline period, two weeks of daily chamomile tea ingestion, and a two-week post-treatment phase.

Samples obtained up to two-weeks after daily chamomile intake formed an isolated cluster in the discriminant analysis map, from which it was inferred that the metabolic effects of chamomile ingestion were prolonged during the two-week postdosing period.”

The study concluded that chamomile tea contains immune-boosting properties aiding in boosting longevity.

Other benefits of chamomile tea

Created from dried chamomile flowers, chamomile tea contains antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Thanks to its antibacterial contents, chamomile tea can help to reduce the appearance of acne breakouts.  As stress can cause breakouts, then calming effects of chamomile tea helps to prevent this.

When used topically, chamomile tea can alleviate acne, spots, and puffy eye bags.

Also, due to their concentration of the flavonoid quercetin, chamomile can provide protection from sun damage.
