Drug smugglers tried to ship a record 333 pounds of cocaine from Panama to Maryland in a container of beach chairs — but the operation folded, according to a report.
Authorities seized the blow at the Port of Baltimore earlier this month, in the largest bust ever at the location, US Customs and Border Patrol officials told WJZ Baltimore.
The shipping container — packed with 125 bricks, valued at $10 million — was first sent from Panama to China, authorities told the station.
From there, the “chairs” were scheduled to be sent to an address in Maryland, officials said.
The previous biggest ever cocaine bust at the port was 311 pounds in April 2007.
No arrests had been made Tuesday.
