Brighton’s recruitment team and Potter have been widely hailed for unearthing the gem who is Moises Caicedo, taking a chance on him in the same transfer window Manchester United didn’t. Since joining for £4.5m in January 2021, Caicedo has surprised many with how quickly he has adapted to English football.
Still only 20, the Ecuadorian reportedly has many high-profile suitors, and Potter’s arrival at Chelsea would’ve likely pushed the Blues to the front of the queue. With Jorginho and N’Golo Kante potentially leaving at the end of the season, Potter will want to reboot his midfield. Caicedo, for the right price, would be an exciting addition.
