Mauricio Pochettino was considered by Chelsea shortly after the decision to sack Tuchel back in September.
Ultimately, however, they chose Potter because they harboured doubts over the Argentine’s ability to manage at the highest level.
While that may have been the case, however, Pochettino has shown throughout his career that he’s capable of being one of the best managers in the world.
He worked wonders at Tottenham, guiding them to the Champions League final in 2019, and also achieved success during a problematic spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
Currently out of work, Pochettino would be a tempting option. Whether he’d manage the Blues after his spell at rivals Spurs, however, is a different matter entirely…
