Chris Evans announces RunFestRun will return for a second year after getting the Queen’s approval to use Windsor Great Park on the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show

CHRIS Evans has announced RunFestRun will return for a second year after he got the Queen’s approval to use Windsor Great Park.

He told listeners on the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show this morning that the festival he hosted earlier this year is making a comeback in May 2020 following its hugely successful debut.

The new big running festival saw stars including Olly Murs, Razorlight, Faithless DJ set, Reef, The Coral and Ten Tonnes perform.

Presenter, DJ and author Fearne Cotton, Britain’s most successful athlete ever Christine Ohuruogu, marathon runner Ben Smith and Dale Pinnock, the The Medicinal Chef, are just some of the successful, inspirational and famous faces who all gave talks.

Now it’s back for a second time – and Chris is thrilled.

“RunFestRun 2020 is returning on May 22 to May 24 next year at Windsor Great Park,” he told listeners.

“What a venue. We had to go through all the red tape and all the negotiations. The Queen had to give her blessing.

“She said ‘yes’, everyone said ‘yes’. It’s on! It’s signed, sealed and delivered.”

RunFestRun launched on May 31 this year at Bowood House and Gardens in Wiltshire with running legends Paula Radcliffe and Colin Jackson.

Chris added; “Our first ever one had unbelievable feedback.

“We sent out festival questionnaire to see what people thought and had a 93 per cent approval rating. It was off the charts. People loved it.

“It’s completely different to any festival I’ve ever been to. It was awesome.”

He added: “It was our pilot festival. The best way to find out if something works is to do it.

“You can talk about it as much as you like but until you put something on you will not know what works and doesn’t work. We were very lucky.

“It’s true the harder you work the luckier you get but you still need luck and it’s got to come from somewhere.

“I’m quite ‘woo-woo’ about these things, but – unapologetically so, I don’t care – it comes from the universe.

“When you’re doing the right thing, the right things happen.

“Sometimes we do the right things for the wrong reasons or reasons we don’t know about. But still the right things happen following the right decisions being made.”
