Motorists face 11-mile queues after a lorry crash on the M60 today.
Anti-clockwise traffic is congested from junction 16 for Clifton, Manchester, to the scene near junction 12 for the M62 near Eccles, Manchester.
Emergency services are at the scene of the accident, Manchester Evening News reports.
According to National Highways, there is currently a one-hour delay.
A tweet posted by Highways England said: “#M60 anti-clockwise between J13 #Worsley and J12 #M62/#M602 #Manchester. Traffic stopped due to a collision.”
Traffic is also slow on the M61 southbound, which joins the M60 near Wardley. It’s slow from junction four for Over Hulton, Greater Manchester.
There are no diversions in place on either motorway.
But some drivers are leaving at junction 16 to use alternative routes, including local roads through the Swinton, Monton and Patricroft areas.
The clockwise carriageway is slow due to rubberneckers. Congestion is back to junction 10 for Trafford, Greater Manchester.
There are also no diversions in place for these motorists.
Two lanes were shut on the clockwise carriageway on the M60 near Stockport, Greater Manchester, earlier this month after a shunt.
Motorists faced rush-hour delays as a crash closed two lanes on the motorway.
Traffic was very heavy on the clockwise carriageway between junction 25 for Bredbury, Greater Manchester and junction 27 for Stockport in the same county. The collision was believed to have happened near the former, and has involved several vehicles.
A tweet, on November 14, posted by Manc Traffic said: “M60 c/w j26-27 queues and reports of 2 lanes blocked after a multi-vehicle collision. Queues building from j23 and off the A560 Crookilley Way.”
