No one told him life was gonna be this way…
The now-famous thief who’s a dead ringer for “Friends” star David Schwimmer on Thursday was sentenced to nine months in jail by a UK judge.
Abdulah Husseni, 36, who was described as a “travelling, wandering, nomadic thief” in Burnley Crown Court, used a stolen bank card to make or attempt to make purchases at four shops in Blackpool, Lancashire, last year, The Guardian reported.
He’d walked into an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant in the town in northwest England and swiped a wallet from a customer’s jacket.
The celebrity lookalike shot to international fame shortly after when he was captured on CCTV footage clutching a crate of beer cans — and diehard “Friends” fans pointed out he looked eerily like Schwimmer.
Lancashire cops, who used the footage in asking the public’s help to identify the thief, were flooded with hundreds of cheeky comments about the resemblance.
Even Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on the ’90s sitcom, joined in, posting a video that showed him shuffling down a bodega beer aisle holding a case of silver cans, just like his British doppelganger.
“Officers, I swear it wasn’t me,” the TV star wrote. “As you can see, I was in New York.”
Husseni, who was busted in November, was convicted of one count of theft and four counts of fraud by false representation in court Thursday.
Judge Sara Dodd blasted him for his “appalling criminal history” and told him he was a “habitual thief” before handing down the sentence.
The Iranian national has 32 previous convictions on 60 offenses since 2008, including 27 charges of theft and dishonesty.
But Dodd said he “may be released very soon” since he has, in effect, already served half of his nine-month sentence while awaiting trial.
