Besiktas sporting director Ceyhun Kazanci is desperate for Dele Alli to return to top form but the Turk insists “nobody can answer” how the England international can get back to his best following an alarming decline. Kazanci has been left astounded by Alli’s saddening fall from grace but there is still optimism he could prove to be a huge success story in Istanbul in the second half of the campaign following his loan switch from Everton.
Alli opted to explore a new challenge back in August after struggling to force his way into Frank Lampard’s starting XI at Everton.
Despite uninspiring form, the attacking midfielder delivered several key contributions last season – most notably in the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park – to keep the Toffees afloat in their desperate battle for survival at the bottom.
But after being told he was unlikely to receive regular football this term, Everton willingly negotiated a loan deal containing a permanent transfer option with Besiktas.
The 26-year-old has struck twice in eight matches for the Black Eagles but Besiktas are yet to truly see Alli showcase his quality.

“Dele Alli is working intensively. We had intense talks with him before we signed him,” he said.
“Senol is famous for returning many players whose careers have been on the decline. We hope that he will be better in the second half of the season.”
Four years ago, Alli starred for England as they reached the World Cup semi-finals in Russia.
The former Tottenham man headed a superb second for the Three Lions as they beat Sweden 2-0 to reach the last four.
Speaking to Under The Cosh, Alli’s former team-mate Kieran Trippier recently declared that Mauricio Pochettino was the perfect coach for the player and part of the reason why he exploded so drastically so early into his career.
The Newcastle right-back said: “Poch was brilliant with Dele to be fair and Dele was flying at Tottenham.
“It’s one of those where I left and went to Atletico Madrid and he was there for two years after. But even during my last season there he was flying, he’s a great lad but Poch was brilliant with him.”
After winning 37 caps for his country, there is still plenty of time for Alli to turn his career around should he steer clear of injuries.
