DISNEY star Dove Cameron has defended posting steamy braless selfies to her social media page.
The 23-year-old actress came under fire from shocked followers who claimed that the images were inappropriate for her young fans.
But the blonde beauty remained defiant in the post’s captions, where she quoted feminist messages about introducing feminism to young people.
In the first snap, Dove is doe-eyed as she stares into the camera while pouting.
She is wearing a white strapped top with gold jewellery – and is noticeably sans bra.
The second image shows Dove in the same outfit, but this picture has been taken from further away which means that her toned stomach is also on display in the cropped vest top.
Alongside the snaps, Dove shared a passage from the book Singing Woman: Voices of the Sacred Feminine.
The captions read: “Women HAVE a history that has been systematically suppressed. Our collective spirituality has largely been tainted to fit the needs of men and those in power.
“This has a profound effect on the self-esteem of girls and the women they become. This influence can be seen in their life choices, partners and financial security for the rest of their lives.
“It also has an effect on the way their future partners will view them – and ultimately treat them. Our girls deserve better. The time to introduce feminism and woman-centred spirituality to ALL children is now.”
“This is the age of the ascendant Feminine Principle. In such times as these, women are able to look at themselves with new concepts of value and brilliance.
“However you inhabit and express being Woman, embrace yourself in that way today!”
Despite the message, some of Dove’s followers were outraged that she had shared such sexy snaps – pointing out that she had a young following as one of the star’s of Disney’s Descendants’ series.
One wrote: “You’re a professional actress working with Disney, not a pinup girl.”
Another complained: “There are kids that follow you and you have your nips out.”
A third moaned: “You forgot to wear a bra sooo embarrassing.”
But Dove refused to back down, hitting back in the comments: “Take your f***ing bra off if you want. Don’t hide your natural body.
