LAZIO are closing in on a free transfer for ex-Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente – but face competition from a host of Serie A clubs.
The Spanish forward is without a club having been released by Spurs at the end of last season.
According to Corrieredellosport Lazio are in contract negotiations with the 34-year-old.
The Italian giants want Llorente to act as backup for strikers Ciro Immobile and Felipe Caicedo.
However, the former Juventus forward is also wanted by Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Napoli.
Llorente spent three seasons in Turin winning the Serie A title in each and netted 23 goals in 66 appearances.
Inter have already signed Belgian powerhouse Romelu Lukaku this summer for £73million from Manchester United.
They are also looking to do business with Old Trafford chiefs again regarding a transfer for outcast Alexis Sanchez.
Inter chiefs have reportedly travelled to Manchester to discuss a loan deal after the Chilean agreed personal terms with the Italian club.
It comes after the ex-Arsenal star rejected a move to Roma.
