GOOGLE blacklists Conservative news websites, a whistle blower has claimed as he now fears for his life.
Zachary Vorhies, a senior software engineer who worked for the web giant for eight years, reportedly leaked hundreds of documents including one called “news black list site for Google Now”.
He claims it shows a list of web pages Google restricts, including Conservative websites such as The National Enquirer, Infowars and Media Matters.
The former Google employee spoke to Project Veritas, a non-profit organisation that claims to expose corruption, after he was allegedly approached by police in San Francisco, California.
Mr Vorhies alleges Google called police on him to perform a “wellness check” after he supposedly leaked the files.
He also told the non-profit he has added a “dead man’s switch”, which will activate the files in the event he was “killed or assassinated”.
Mr Vorhies said the firm’s actions are “hypocritical at the least and it’s perjury at the worst” after the CEO Sundar Pichai testified in front of Congress last year to say Google was not biased.
‘IT IS HYPOCRITICAL’
He told the organisation: “This particular black list is showing which news sites aren’t going to show up underneath the search bar when people are searching on their Android phone.
“And they are telling people that they don’t have any blacklists, they don’t have any political ideology, they don’t have any political bias but it’s really clear that they do.
“If Google wants to have political bias and if they wanna say they have political bias that is their right as a company.
“But for them to go under oath and say that theses blacklists don’t exist, well employees like me are able to just search through the internal search engine of the company and see that they do, it is hypocritical at the least and it’s perjury at the worst.
“If people don’t fall in line with their editorial agenda then their news articles get deboosted and deranked.
“And people do fall in line with their editorial agenda then it gets boosted to the top.”
They are telling people that they don’t have any blacklists, they don’t have any political ideology, they don’t have any political bias but it’s really clear that they do.

One file appears to show rankings that “define channel quality”.
Images allegedly shared with Project Veritas show Mr Vorhies walking towards police with his hands in the air after the documents were leaked.
Mr Vorhies said police banged on his door, claiming the FBI, a bomb squad and the SWAT team were called – adding this is how Google intimidates “rogue” employees..
He also alleges an undercover employee targeted him on Twitter and sent a “threatening” letter “containing several demands”.
He said: “Attorneys told me this is the first step in having your life ruined. They are going to come after you.
“Google is not who they say they are.”
The claims comes after Google was accused of left-wing bias following an academic study.
Academic research by two universities shows that right-wing news sites – like FOX News – were underrepresented on the search engine.
Journalism experts at Columbia University and Northwestern University investigated Google’s Top Stories box.
That’s the rail of news stories that appears at the top of the Google page after searching for a newsworthy topic such as Donald Trump or Brexit.
Researchers collected 6,302 unique links to news articles shown in the Top Stories box.

A study author noted: “Our data shows that 62.4% of article impressions were from sources rated by that research as left-leaning.”
This is in contrast to just 11.3% of sources rated as right-leaning.
