Two British women have been injured, one of them seriously, in a hit-and-run accident on the holiday island of Tenerife. One of the women suffered a severe head injury. The women are believed to be a mother and her daughter.
Police are now searching for a van which mowed them down after mounting the pavement and sped away from the scene.
It is not known if the two women were on holiday in Tenerife and their ages have not been released.
Both were taken to hospital.
The hit-and-run happened at 8.30pm on Sunday night near the holiday resort of Golf del Sur in the south of the island.
The driver was a man.
There have been no updates given about the condition of the two victims.
