JEFFREY Epstein’s British ‘madam’ Ghislaine Maxwell has been spotted at a fast food joint in LA in the first sighting since her paedo pal’s apparent suicide, reports claim.
After weeks of speculation over her whereabouts, the former socialite, 57, was photographed eating at an In-N-Out Burger in Universal City on Monday.
An eagle-eyed diner told how Ghislaine, who is accused of procuring girls for Epstein, was reading ‘The Book of Honor: The Secret Lives and Deaths of CIA Operatives’.
Once spotted, Maxwell – who was sitting alone with a pet pooch – told an onlooker: “Well, I guess this is the last time I’ll be eating here!”
One source told the New York Post that the diner went up and spoke to Maxwell.
They said: “He went up to her and asked, ‘Are you who I think you are?’ She replied, ‘Yes, I am.’”
Ghislaine has long faced claims that she served as the madam for Epstein, who hanged himself in jail on Saturday while awaiting trial.
The British-born socialite, who is the daughter of disgraced late-media mogul Robert Maxwell, has denied procuring young “sex slaves” for Epstein.
A trove of court papers released hours before Epstein killed himself claim that Ghislaine also took part in sex sessions with Epstein’s “victims”.
Virginia Giuffre, the girl in the infamous 2001 photo with Prince Andrew, claims Ghislaine recruited her in the summer of 2000 at a spa in Mar-a-Largo, Florida.
She claimed that Ghislaine trained her to be a masseuse for Epstein and taught her how to “please him”.
In depositions, unsealed last week, Virginia described being loaned out sexually to important men.
She added: “My whole life revolved around just pleasing these men and keeping Ghislaine and Jeffrey happy. Ghislaine told me from her mouth to do these things.”
Ghislaine has always denied the allegations.
In a deposition, she said: “It’s borne out of years of feeling the pressure of this entire lie that she has perpetrated.”
She added that Virginia’s story is “100 per cent false”.
The picture of Ghislaine in LA is understood to be the first time she has been pictured in public since 2016.
It was thought that she may have been staying at a mansion owned by tech CEO Scott Borgerson in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.
But Mr Borgerson has since insisted his “former friend” Maxwell is not staying at his home.
It was also rumoured that Epstein’s sidekick may have been hiding in France amid the sex trafficking ring scandal.
But this has now been shown not to be the case, according to reports.
Her former townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan was sold for $15 million in 2016, by a company with the same address as Epstein’s New York office.
Following Epstein’s apparent suicide, the spotlight is now fixed on Maxwell and other alleged co-conspirators.
Attorney General Bill Barr issued a stark warning to Epstein’s cronies on Monday and made clear that federal investigators were coming for them.
“Let me assure you that this case will continue on against anyone who was complicit with Epstein,” he said.
