Miocic regained the heavyweight championship from Cormier in a stunning clash just a year after he was KOed by the same opponent.

Heading into round four DC was hurt with several body shots on the inside and began to look visible troubled by the hard punches to the midsection.

A left-hook to the body by Miocic signalled the beginning of the end as he then unleashed a barrage of shots and dropped Cormier with a right hand before the fight was halted.

After the pay-per-view had finished, UFC light heavyweight champ Jones wasted no time in sharing his thoughts on the stunning event.

And he believes Miocic’s triumph proves he is the greatest heavyweight MMA star to ever walk the planet.

“Bones” wrote: “Stipe is hands down the greatest heavyweight of all time.

“I have nothing else to say.”

Now Jones is looking forward to see how the UFC’s official pound-for-pound rankings shape-up after the weekend’s explosive action.

Before the pay-per-view Cormier was in top spot, with Jones No.2 and Miocic placed at No.11.

The 32-year-old American wrote: “Now can we stop playing games with these pound for pound rankings already.”

And Jones could not resist a pop at his rival Cormier – whom he has battled twice with – for his recent remarks.

DC told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show that he did not need to fight Jones a third time because he earns enough money “on the front end.”

He added: “I guess losses don’t matter when you’re getting paid so much on the front end.”

The defeat ended Cormier’s three-fight winning streak – while it was Miocic’s first match since losing the strap to DC 13 months ago.

Jones successfully retained his heavyweight title against Thiago Santos at UFC 239 last month via split decision.
