The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are understood to be moving to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park this summer with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince George. Members of the Royal Family often have live-in staff, but biographer Omid Scobie said the relocation will see the end of this for the future King and Queen Consort.
Mr Scobie said the Cambridges’ nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, housekeeper and chef will live elsewhere on the Windsor estate.
Writing in his column for Yahoo! News, the royal author said: “The move to a smaller property will also see the end of live-in staff.
“Full-time nanny Maria Borallo, their housekeeper and chef will all receive private accommodation elsewhere on the estate – paid for by William and Kate.”
It comes as William and Kate are downsizing with their move from London to Berkshire to a four-bedroom property.
However, Kensington Palace will remain the future King and Queen Consort’s official residence.
And they also have Anmer Hall in Norfolk where they spend school holidays.
The family’s new home in Berkshire does not require any refurbishment work or extra taxpayer-funded security.
George, nine, and Charlotte, seven will reportedly enrol at a school near Windsor after leaving Thomas’s Battersea.
A key factor in William and Kate’s decision to move is to be closer to the Queen, who is now mainly based at Windsor Castle.
A source told the Sun last month: “Kate and William were very keen for a modest home to start their new lives in Windsor.
“Adelaide Cottage fits the bill because it is a four-bedroom home and they do not need any more as they have no live-in staff.
“They were adamant they didn’t want anything too showy or anything that needed renovating or extra security so as not to be a burden on the taxpayer.
“The added bonus is they can send George, Charlotte and Louis to school together locally.
“They had no other demands than a pleasant family home close to schools and the Queen.”
The Cambridges will also be closer to Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton who live the Berkshire village of Bucklebury.
