LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp channelled his inner Rocky Balboa as he screamed out “Adrian” following his goalkeeper’s penalty shootout heroics against Chelsea.
The ex-West Ham ace wrote himself into Reds folklore after denying Tammy Abraham to win the Super Cup for the Merseyside outfit.
Liverpool won a penalty shootout yet again in Istanbul thanks to the performance of the Spanish shot-stopper, leaving Klopp delighted.
Last season’s Champions League winners came back from behind to lead the Blues, before Frank Lampards’s side pegged them back – forcing the game to penalties.
And just like how Rocky used to scream out to his wife Adrian in the hit franchise, Klopp praised his 32-year-old goalkeeper, who only started due to an injury to No1 Alisson.
Speaking of his side’s performance to BT Sport after the match, the German said: “We showed character as Chelsea did, it was like a boxing fight, proper knocks for both sides.
“Nobody in the stadium wanted extra-time it was a real killer. It was a really good Chelsea side and we had good moments.
“Talking about football makes no sense, it’s still really early. We had to fight and the boys did really well.
“What a story. Adriaaaaan! Like Rocky when he lost against Apollo Creed. He’s really loud in the dressing room already. His Spanish emotions come through.
“He’s not won a lot in his life so it’s nice for him to have moments like this. Really pleased for the boys.”

Adrian gave away a penalty in the first half of extra time after he was judged to have brought down Abraham, though replays showed there was minimal contact.
A delighted Adrian told BT Sport: “Welcome to Liverpool! It was a crazy week but I’m really happy to play here and for the fans. In the end it was great finish for us.
“I tried to stop when I saw Abraham and I touched him with his feet but he was looking for that. It doesn’t matter, in the end we got the title.”
