Arsenal do not want to pay that much for Mudryk, especially as he would have been available at a much lower price last summer. Chelsea are also putting pressure on their London rivals and have the spending power to trump any bid.
Mudryk wants to join Arsenal and has made that abundantly clear in interviews and with his social media activity. He also last month criticised Shakhtar’s asking price for him.
He told Sport Arena: “When I found out about my price, I wasn’t just surprised – I was shocked. I have a long-term contract with Shakhtar, I give all my strength and energy so that Shakhtar achieves maximum results… but every football player has a dream to play in a top club and in a top championship – I am no exception.”
However, Shakhtar still maintain Mudryk is worth as much as they have quoted. And that is largely down to United splashing out what they did on Antony.
