'MASSIVE fire' erupts in West Midlands as thick black smoke seen for miles – updates

Fire crews have been called to Kelvin Way in West Bromwich as plumes of smoke can be seen billowing across Birmingham. West Midlands Fire Service is at the scene, and has asked residents to close their doors and windows.

On Twitter, the emergency service said: “Eight fire engines and around 50 firefighters have responded to a fire in Kelvin Way, West Bromwich. 

“People in the local area are asked to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution. 

“Smoke has the potential to affect the nearby M5 motorway.”
