Meghan’s close family and friends have often openly spoken about how “proud” they were of the Duchess of Sussex and the things she has achieved. US talk show star Oprah Winfrey, one of Meghan’s close friends, has publicly described her admiration for the Duchess.

Speaking after the birth of Meghan and Prince Harry’s son, Archie, Ms Winfrey said: “To stand up and say this is what I want for my baby and my family, and now I’m going to do it a different way to what it’s been done for a thousand years.

“I’m just so proud of her…I think it’s a great thing.”

Prince Harry has also previously expressed his admiration for his wife after announcing the birth of Archie.

He said: “It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.”

Meghan is also close friends with tennis legend Serena Williams, who has even helped her organise her baby shower in New York.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Ms Williams said: “Just having her in general as a friend is great.

“She’s always positive no matter what, that’s just the kind of person she is. Her personality just shines.”

Actress friend Priyanka Chopra-Jonas said the Duchess was “always meant for big things”.

The Duchess is believed to have continued her mother’s tradition on her birthday and reflected on the past year and set herself new goals.

In 2016, Meghan confessed to having the particular birthday habit on her now-deleted lifestyle website, The Tig.

She wrote: “My mom has always said that birthdays are your own personal New Year.

“Your own chance to make resolutions just for yourself and what you prognosticate for your year ahead.

“More surprises, more adventure, more opportunities to grow, more days filled with giggled and cheeky jokes, more delicious meals and more inspiration. Always more inspiration.”
