Police release CCTV image of man after blind woman 'sexually assaulted' at train station

According to the British Transport Police, the victim was standing with a white cane on the platform waiting for a train when the incident occurred. She was allegedly assaulted at Rugby station in Warwickshire on July 26, just before 5pm. BTP said she was “approached” and touched “inappropriately” by a man.

Police released an image of a man whom they believe “may have information which could help their investigation”.

In a statement, BTP said: “Detectives investigating a sexual assault at Rugby railway station are today releasing this image in connection.

“At just before 5pm on Tuesday, July 26, the blind victim was stood with her white cane on the platform waiting for a train.

“A man then approached and touched her inappropriately.

“Detectives believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.”
