A body language expert claims Prince Andrew looked “haunted” and on the “outside” of the Royal Family as he made an unexpected appearance at the traditional Christmas Day church service in Norfolk. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mirror, expert Judi James told the paper the 62-year-old Duke looked like he had been “the victim of a cull” and that he walked several paces behind the main party of royals.
Andrew’s brother King Charles III and the Queen Consort Camilla took centre stage walking to the service at St Mary Magdalene Church on the royal Sandringham estate.
The King’s son and heir Prince William, along with Kate the Princess of Wales and their children George, Charlotte and Louis also shared the limelight.
The group were dubbed “the magnificent seven” by the Daily Mail’s Sarah Vine in response to a previous year when Harry, Meghan and William and Kate were crowned the Fab Four after an iconic picture was taken of the foursome.
The Christmas Day event is popular with royal watchers and fans of the Firm who gather to cheer them on and pass on gifts and flowers.
Speaking to The Mirror, Judi James said: “Andrew looked very much like the victim of a cull. Charles had walked with his brother away from the crowds in a gesture of loyalty at Andrew’s first church service after the notorious BBC interview, but this time Andrew walked alone, alongside but outside the royal pack.
“His wide eyes and his ashen face made him look wary and haunted. His head was held high at times but there appeared to be no one stepping up from the chatty and tactile group of royals to join him or to include him, leaving him walking several paces outside the very upbeat, tactile groups with his hands stuffed into his pockets.
“Andrew might have managed a more inclusive look during the Queen’s funeral when appearances were more formal and military but in an informal scenario like this, he was revealed to be more on the outside of the royal pack than inside.
“His facial expression, with a rounded eye, suggested some torment, suggesting he might find it hard to see his public appearances as any form of PR event.”

Prince Andrew has been dogged by scandal from his relationship with the deceased convicted sex offender and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, which culminated in Andrew being stripped of his honorary military titles and removed as a senior working royal.
On Christmas Eve it was reported that King Charles was “throwing the Duke of York out” of Buckingham Palace.
A source told the Sun that Prince Andrew would no longer have an office at the prestigious address or be welcome to use it as a correspondence address.
It is believed that Andrew will keep the 31-bed Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate. However, it is currently unclear what will happen to the staff in his office at the palace.
During the King’s first Christmas speech broadcast this year, video footage did not feature Prince Andrew, nor did it feature Harry and Meghan who have recently made a six-part Netflix documentary about their experience as part of the Royal Family.
