PSG star Neymar is wanted by both Barcelona and Real Madrid having decided he’s had enough of strutting his stuff at the Parc des Princes.
The Brazil international feels the time is right to leave the club after two underwhelming years in Ligue 1.
Barcelona are frontrunners in the race to lure Neymar away from the club but Real Madrid are also in the mix.
And Catalan newspaper Sport say that, last week, the Samba star told Barcelona players he was on the verge of going to Real Madrid.
However, now, Barcelona appear to be his likeliest destination.
The Catalan giants are ready to forgive the 27-year-old for leaving the Nou Camp in 2017 amid their desire to win the Champions League.
Neymar was part of the side who won the treble under Luis Enrique, scoring in the 3-1 Champions League victory over Juventus.
And Barcelona want him back in order to land the trophy they have gone without since 2015.
The report says Gerard Pique’s comments were made after Neymar had told him about going to Real.
Pique said: “He’s a great player, who knows the dressing room, the city and the club.
“[But] there were people unhappy [at how he left].
“If the possibility arises, I would be thrilled to have him here, but it’s a complicated deal and he’s a PSG player now.
“Of course we speak to him.
“But those are private conversations and it’s not convenient to say what we talk about. In the end it has to be him that says what he wants.”
PSG would rather sell Neymar to Real rather than Barcelona.
That’s because relations between both the Ligue 1 and Catalan giants have been strained ever since the blockbuster deal of two years ago.
But, as things stand, Barcelona are likelier to be his next destination.
