It is understood that Royal Family members, including Prince Harry’s father and brother, will not get an advance copy of the book before it reaches shelves across the UK. The memoir, which is expected to be released later this year, is likely to have never before seen revelations after the estranged prince promised to give a “firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful”.
According to the Telegraph, sources close to his father Prince Charles have indicated that it was hoped members of his team would have been able to read its contents prior to publication.
However, they said it was “unlikely to be on his reading list”.
With no publication date publicly revealed, there is speculation that publishers Penguin Random House could be planning a shock drop of the book, meaning there is little to no publicity done before the book is released.
The publisher, which is aware that no Royal Family member would ever sue one of its own, is still taking a big risk with the book according to one insider.
They said: “These publishers are too not the types to publish and be damned. They have reputations to protect. The biggest potential issue is not defamation but truth – accuracy.”
