Stacey Dooley, 32, put on a rare loved-up display with Kevin Clifton, 36, on Instagram. The Strictly Come Dancing winner took the opportunity to gush over her boyfriend as he posed for a photo with fellow professional dancer Johannes Radebe, 32, in view of his 324,000 followers. Kevin was pictured with his arm around Johannes as the pair smiled for the camera at a performance of Romeo and Juliet. The dancer captioned the snap: “Me and @johannesradebe at Romeo and Juliet @sadlers_wells@mbnewadventures@matthewbourne13.”
Stacey seemed to appreciate the snap of her beau as she added a love heart eye emoji in the comments section on the social media platform.
The documentary filmmaker was also joined by Kevin’s fans who shared compliments about the “dashing pair”.
Another admirer added: “Looking forward to my Kevin fix every Saturday soon!”
“Hope you two enjoyed it @johannesradebe@keviclifton xx,” a third fan wrote back.
Stacey’s comment on her boyfriend’s post comes after she opened up about their relationship for the first time in an interview with The Guardian.
She told the publication: “Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can’t really indulge that and then ask for privacy.
“That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds.”
She went on: “What I am happy to say is Kev’s amazing, I’m happy, life happens, I’ve got an amazing career and I’m very lucky.”
Elsewhere, Kevin Clifton revealed he messaged Stacey Dooley twice before she signed up to Strictly.
In a joint interview on Radio Times’ YouTube channel last year, the BBC favourite admitted he informed Stacey he was a huge fan of her documentary work on Twitter.
Kevin said at the time: “I’ve been a fan of Stacey for a few years and I’ve watched loads of her documentaries and I think all her work is really good.
“I think it was about a year ago or maybe two years ago, I actually tweeted Stacey after watching one of her documentaries to say, ‘Oh I really enjoyed that. I think it was really important stuff that you did.’
“And she tweeted back saying, ‘Oh, thank you very much.’”
Kevin then turned to Stacey as he pointed out another time the pair wrote to each other on the micro-blogging platform.
He said to her: “You tweeted about your next project, like what the idea was for it and I tweeted, ‘Oh when is this going to be on? That sounds amazing.’”
Kevin went on to say Stacey replied to him to tell him details about the show, at which point he added: “I turned into a little fan girl.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One next month.
