The weather is likely to be warm this weekend just in time for the Bank Holidays, but certain areas of the country may face disruption due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The Met Office has issued some weather warnings that may impact the UK today.

There is a high chance of rain across the southeastern area of the country, as the Met Office has released a yellow warning for thunderstorms.

A yellow warning means severe weather is possible in the UK over the next few days and the Met Office is monitoring the developing weather.

They advise that people plan ahead and consider possible disruptions to travel and day activities.

Thunderstorms are expected to affect the east of England, including the Midlands, London and southeast.

The Environmental Agency has also warned that flooding may occur today in the east and south-east areas in England.

They warn that floods may occur in parts of the east and south-east which may cause some travel disruption.

London is expected to be affected by flooding from the early morning hours of Thursday until the evening.

Areas which will likely face flooding are River Hogsmill, Ewell and Kingston upon Thames.

The Environmental Agency advises people to monitor their local weather conditions and avoid walking, cycling and driving through flood water.

During the day, the sun is likely to be strong, so sunscreen will be needed for those planning outside activities.
