Darya Dugin, a Russian nationalist who has been hit by Western sanctions and whose father Alexander Dugin is dubbed “Putin’s brain”, is understood to have been killed on a highway near the village of Bolshiye Vyazyomy. Footage allegedly from the scene of the explosion shows her Land Cruiser Prado engulfed in flames by a roadside Alexander Dugin reportedly switched cars at the last minute after leaving an event he and his daughter had attended as guests of honour.

They had been due to leave the Tradition family festival at the Zakharovo estate together but he instead reportedly travelled in a separate vehicle.

Daria Dugin, who was sanctioned by the US Treasury and was a political analyst as well as editor of pro-Russia publication United World International, was instead killed as a result of a deadly detonation in the jeep, Russian news site Gazeta reported.

The claims of the hit gone wrong have so fa not been officially confirmed, but another Putin stooge, Denis Pushilin, head of the pro-Kremlin breakaway Donetsk People’s Republic in eastern Ukraine, launched a furious attack on Telegram.

He wrote: “The terrorists of the Ukrainian regime, trying to eliminate Alexander Dugin, blew up his daughter… In a car. Blessed memory of Daria, she is a real Russian girl!”
