Ukraine LIVE: Putin 'finalising deal with Taliban' as MORE explosions rock Crimea

Vladimir Putin is reportedly “finalising” a deal with the Taliban, as more explosions are reported in the occupied region of Crimea.

Habiburahman Habib, spokesperson of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economy has confirmed that a Taliban delegation was in Moscow finalising a deal on supplies of Russian gas, oil and wheat.

Speaking to Reuters, he said: “They are in negotiation with the Russian side.”

Both Russia and Taliban-led Afghanistan are being crippled by harsh international sanctions imposed on them by foreign governments.

This comes as a large-scale fire has been reported in Krasnogvardeyskoye in Crimea.

Images released online show huge clouds of black smoke engulfing the sky and some local sources are claiming an oil depot caught on fire.

The explosions come after a string of Ukrainian attacks on military bases previously thought to be too far behind the front lines to be hit in Russian-occupied Crimea, which was annexed in 2014.
