Russian “savagery” has led to more than 400 documented Russian war crimes in Kherson, it has been claimed by investigators.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his nightly address to his nation that bodies of both dead service personnel – and civilians – had been found.
He said: “The Russian army left behind the same savagery it did in other regions of the country it entered.”
On Friday, Russian troops pulled out of Kherson, the only regional capital it had captured since the early days of the war.
Russia denies its troops intentionally target civilians.
Mass graves have been found in a number of places across Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, including civilian bodies showing evidence of torture discovered in the Kharkiv region and in Bucha, near Kyiv.
