What Antony has told Ajax in fresh comment about Manchester United transfer

Manchester United target Antony has reportedly told Ajax that he wants to seal his mega-money move to Old Trafford within the next 48 hours. The Brazil international has enjoyed a scintillating run of form in Holland and looks set to reunite with his former mentor Erik ten Hag in the Premier League.

United have been chasing Antony’s signature for months but have so far been frustrated in their efforts to sign him. But the winger is now looking to push the move through as quickly as he can, according to De Telegraaf, and is putting pressure on Ajax to sanction a deal.

Antony was a star performer for Ten Hag and bagged 22 goals and 20 assists in 79 appearances under the Dutchman. And the 22-year-old helped his side to back-to-back Eredivisie titles as well as the Dutch Cup in 2021.

Antony has started the new season in fine form once again and laid on an assist in the opening Eredivisie game of the season against Fortuna Sittard as Ajax won the game 3-2. The Brazil international then got his name on the scoresheet and assisted another goal against FC Groningen to help his side to an emphatic 6-1 victory.

Ten Hag began his United reign in humiliating fashion as his team suffered a 2-1 reverse at home to Brighton earlier this month. And his early tenure went from bad to worse a week later as Brentford fired in four goals without reply during their clash in west London.

The Dutchman cancelled his players’ day off in the wake of their crushing defeat at the Brentford Community Stadium and forced them to instead undergo an intense running session. And his methods harvested instant rewards as the Red Devils finally claimed their first win of the campaign by dispatching Liverpool 2-1 on Monday night.

United, who have already signed Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen this summer, are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Hampshire to take on Southampton.
