KILLING Eve caused a sensation when it first hit our TV screens in 2018 and now the hit drama about a psychopath assassin and MI5 agent is coming back for a second series.
Here’s everything you need to know about Killing Eve series two including release date, trailer and cast…
When is Killing Eve season 2 set to be released?
Killing Eve will be back on our screens in Spring 2019.
An exact UK air date has not yet been confirmed but series two is set to air on April 8 on BBC America.
The series will then shortly be available to watch on BBC Three.
For series one there was a six month wait between the episodes airing in the US and the UK but the BBC’s director of content Charlotte Moore has said that fans will “not have to wait so long next time.”
Is there a trailer for Killing Eve series two?
Yes- Killing Eve’s explosive new trailer sees the action ramped up between Eve Polastri and Villanelle.
The BBC’s recently released clip shows the rogue MI5 agent and her nemesis continue their story exactly 36 seconds after the events of the first series’ finale.
The clip begins with Villanelle- played by Jodie Comer- lying in a hospital bed as she says: “Sometimes when you love someone you will do crazy things.”
She then appears to escape from the ward by putting on a white doctor’s coat and white Crocs.
But it seems the villain hasn’t quite recovered from her stab wounds that were inflicted by Eve -played by Sandra Oh- at the end of last series, and Eve is sent on a mission to find her by her corrupt boss, Carolyn Martens.
“If Vilanelle is alive, you need to find her,” says Carolyn, before the scene cuts to a police raid and a shot of Eve leaving her boss’s house with a smile on her face.
Clearly hot on Villanelle’s tail yet again, Carolyn jokes: “Stop it Eve, I can feel your excitement!”
The trailer then flickers between shots of the assassin and the MI5 agent.
Ex-hacker Kenny Stowton is seen asking Eve “what is it between you and Villanelle?”, before it ends with the BBC villain echoing the comment she made at the start of the trailer.
Teasing the show’s return at the end of last year, chief writer and executive producer Emerald Fennell told Entertainment Weekly: “Eve has done something which may have changed her for ever, that will have repercussions with every relationship in her life.”

What will happen in Killing Eve series 2?
As suggested by the Valentine’s themed teaser trailer, the plot of series two will revolve around an elicit love affair between Eve and Villanelle.
The first season ended with Eve confessing her feelings for Villanelle – just before she stabbed her in the stomach.
Speaking to ET Canada Sandra Oh said: “I think that action that Eve did has a profound effect on Villanelle.
“I think that both changes them in a way that neither of them were quite ready for.”
She added: “It’s like… the difficulty of the romance is how to be together. It’s like… more of the impossible dynamic is how can you actually be together and I think we definitely explore that.”
The first series was based on the novella series Codename Villanelle by Luke Jennings.
It remains to be seen if Eve’s marriage to Niko will survive or if we’ll find out who the mysterious organisation known only as “The Twelve” really are.
