'Why is he laughing!?' Truss shuts down Starmer in brutal rebuke 'Responsible for this!

Energy bills for the average household will be frozen at no more than £2,500 and businesses will be spared crippling increases as Liz Truss took action to shield Britons from the global gas crisis. The Prime Minister’s two-year plan will save the average household around £1,000 from October and protect billpayers from further expected rises over the coming months. But when focusing on the cause, Ms Truss was laughed down from the Opposition benches.

She said: “I want to move on to why we are in this situation we are in now and the fact that energy policy over the past decade has not focused enough on securing supply.

“I don’t know why the honourable gentleman is laughing, he is partly responsible for this.”
